The Black Eyed Susan Catering team has had the special privilege of catering a few events out at the new Mills River Sierra Nevada Brewing campus. All we gotta say is – WELCOME! Not only are these folks part of an awesome brewing operation, but they fit right in with the Asheville scene with their love of beer, great food, and their earthy kindness!
This past weekend, we helped out with a going-away party in the taproom. Check out a few shots we snapped of their yummy food choices!
We started out by passing this delicious butternut apple soup in little shooter glasses
Along with the soup, we opened an Antipasta Sation with cured meats, warm pimento cheese, bacon, Havarti cheese, caramel, baked brie, apple blue cheese dip, crostini, crackers, and homemade long cheese sticks
And then for dinner! The Sierra Nevada crowd love to mix & mingle and enjoy the heavy hors d’oeuvres style of food stations. For this event, we had three dinner station open after cocktail hour.
First up on Station #1, we served roasted vegetables with a basil mint dip, a massaged kale and quinoa salad, spinach & artichoke roules, ham & cheese roules, and pork meatballs with a Swedish mushroom sauce.
Here on Station #2, we have: beef tenderloin sliders with arugula and homemade horseradish; a cowgirl salad with bacon, tomatoes, carrots, and homemade croutons; root vegetable skewers, and green beans with roasted fingerling potatoes.

On our last station (didn’t get a picture! boo): Lavender chicken skewers with artichoke rosemary aioli, fall augratin, sweet potato biscuits, and a blueberry pear goat cheese salad.
To top it all off, we served up a Stout Chocolate Lava Cake with Homemade Whip Cream in baby mason jars.
